Oscars for ChickFlicks – Who will take the win?
This year 4 ChickFlicks have been nominated for an Oscar; Brooklyn, Carol, Cinderella and The Danish Girl. This to me is a clear sign that ChickFlicks are a respected and mainstream genre. Who will take the win? My prediction is that all four ChickFlicks will take home an Oscar.
Cate Blanchett is amazing in Carol and I can not imagine her not taking the win in the ‘Actress in a Leading Role’ category (even though Saoirse was really amazing in Brooklyn). The Cinematography will probably also take the win as it was mesmerizing.
Rooney Mara could win the Oscar but I think Alicia Vikander her supporting role in The Danish Girl was really impressive so I have high hopes for her winning the ‘Actress in a Supporting Role’ award. Eddie Redmayne was as brilliant this year as he was last year when he accepted the Oscar for ‘Actor in a Leading Role’, but because of this I think he will not win this year. Even though his performance deserves the win again.
Brooklyn might become the surprise of the night and take home the Oscar for ‘Best Picture‘ as the movie is beautiful and original (but has a tough competitor in The Revenant).
Lastly Cinderella so deserves to win in the ‘Costume design’ category. All the dresses were amazing.
In the meantime I look forward to hearing from you who you think should take home the Oscars? Let me know your predictions by leaving a comment below.
Below is the overview of my predictions and early next week I will come back to you to see what ChickFlicks take home the Oscars.
Brooklyn (3 Nominations)
Carol (6 Nominations)
